There better be a 3rd season, if there is not, I shall cry.

And yes, this past weekends episode was wonderful! I did a little fist pump for Arthur when he confided to Merlin that he is beginning to think that maybe his father is wrong in regards to magic...which goes to say that I was completely distraught at the end, when he's standing all moodily in the shadows and says something along the lines of "screw this, magic is evil". Especially because when the camera panned back to our ever-adorable Colin, he had tears in his eyes....I mean I know why he did it, but I will redundantly ask anyway...WHY DID MERLIN HAVE TO TELL ARTHUR THAT IT ALL WASN'T TRUE....WHY!!!!!, because now if Arthur ever finds out Merlin is a warlock, AND he finds out that he lied to him (at the same time) then is first instinctual reaction is not going to be..."Oh you're a sorcerer, but you've never done anything to me so it's all cool." Now it could go...."You're a sorcerer! You lied to me about something as important to me as my mother!?!?!?! You can't be my friend, therefore you must have been the one orchestrating everything, ergo you must be EVIL!!!!"...Aha, okay now that I wrote that out I feel like I'm being a bit melodramatic. Still..it could happen. Lol, could being the operative word. As I said before, I can't wait for next week because Merlin gets himself a girl! Sadly though it looks like she's going to get killed...poor Merlin.

If I haven't said this earlier, thank you everyone on this forum for your amazing toleration with putting up with my nonsensical ramblings.

^^

Watched it! Loved it!...can't wait for the next installment (as usual)....tee hee.

I was a bit disapointed, that Merlin wasn't the center of suspicions for long, but my disapointed quickly disapaited in the absolute ingenious that was Gaius's character in this episode. Especially because we know Gaius to be more of the behind the scenes, cowardly figure (slightly debunked at the end of season 1, but still semi-present)...it was wonderful to see him so nobally defending both Merlin and Morgana with his life. That scene at the end where Uther goes to him with the "hurt puppy" expression and Gaius refuses to accept his apology was long awaited, but still brilliant. I literally shouted "Go Gaius!" at my computer screen much to the confused amusement of the rest of my household.

Random note, but I'm glad that they finally clarified the fact that Uther knew Gaius used to practice magic. I always wondered about that. :P

Although I can't wait for next weeks episode I am actually more excited about the episode two weeks in our future...because as rumor has it, Merlin get's himself a girl...which he desperatly needs/deserves. Ah, Colin Morgan, why must you be so adorable. Anyhoo...what do you think, will Arthur suceed in killing Uther? Or is even that too morbid for a so-called "family show".

Ahaha, I wish...but alas if they're heavily hinting that his secret's going to be discovered...they're probably going to throw in some obnoxious plot device that will save the day, and aquit Merlin without any further suspicion. I feel like this whole series so far has been me sitting "Oh would you just FIGURE IT OUT ALREADY!"...in a loving way of course.

You really got a sense of the king that Arthur's going to be in this episode as well. Especially with in the scene...

Uther: I gave you a direct order.
Arthur: The people cannot afford to pay the tax.
Lady Catrina: Don't tell me you're naive enough to take them at their word?
Arthur: We have their loyalty, their goodwill. Do not forsake that by making unreasonable demands.
Lady Catrina: Is it so unreasonable for a king to expect his subjects to obey him?
Arthur: They'll starve.
Uther: Nonsense. You've grown too soft. Remember, these are your subjects, not your friends.
Arthur: Why can't they be both?
Uther: Because we rule the people, not the other way round.
Arthur: I think you're wrong.
Uther: I beg your pardon?
Arthur: I said you're wrong. Without the people, there is no Camelot. We're as much their servant as they are ours.

I wanted to cheer him on, I was so proud of him! Arthur will make a great king some day...well, obviously, but I think this is the first time we really see him grasping what that means.

Oh, wow I'm so sorry I completely spaced on that. I can probably get a post up by tonight. I'd do it now but I'm on my way out the door for rehearsal.
