Liopleurodon

This is a song about the lost love I feel for an ancient extinct sea monster I saw on a documentary.

Liopleurodon

One morning I was kneeling in the clay

When I found some bones from a prehistoric day

What mighty creature once was made from these?

and im taken to a distant time

a blue and tranquil maritime

where giant reptiles ruled the ancient seas

and I, recall

that to you and I the world just seemed

so small

(CHORUS):

Liopleurodon, I love you

I'm always thinking of you

feeding on leedsichtyses in June

and you've been dead for so long

but still our love is so strong

I want to swim with you beneath the Jurassic moon

oo i loved you so

90 million lives ago

you and i once ruled the inland sea

and even now i see you

i hunted icthyosaurs to feed you

back when life was wonderful and free

CHORUS

200 million years before

the nautilus walked the ocean floor

an equal time has passed

he's still here today

and you have gone away

but like the nautilus our love will last...

forever!

we ruled the ancient--- seas together----

Liopleurodon, I love you

I'm always thinking of you

and how the sea is empty without you

you were so strong and agile

but in the end so fragile

the earth and ocean grew too cold for you

and I, today

cry because all good things like you

die

away----
