Suck it Up

After Corbin leaves her friends, Wyatt and Luci, in complete silence Corbin has to fight her way along a less beaten path back towards the convention. While, Luci has time away from her crush on Wyatt to think about all that Corbin and he have been through.

"You know she was leaving for us, right?" Wyatt breaks the outstanding silence to butt in.

"What do you mean?"

"I don't I guess I was just thinking that maybe she really did leave so we can go back." Wyatt stands up from where he had been crouching down next to the car.

"But it's dangerous! If you haven't realized it yet, there are VAMPIRES out there!"

"I think I know that! I was, after all, bitten by one! Besides, who is leaving dangerous to, her or us? There are two of us going away from the danger and it is just her going towards it...and her mysterious, creepy guy."

"Vampire." Luci retorted half-mindedly, actually considering what Wyatt had just said.

"Oh, yeah. Cause that's better, somehow? Especially cause, you know, he set us up before." Wyatt kicked at the dust surrounding them.

"She has her phone."

"Yeah cause vampires will really let you make a phone call before they kill you." Wyatt grumbles to himself as he goes towards the road to look for the tow truck. Luci pulls out her phone and checks to see what other people think she should do and starts to read and view their responses.

She ditched you so kick her to the curb. Go back home. Besides what danger could she possibly be in?

"If only they really knew." Luci muttered to herself.

So is Wyatt, like, available now?

Luci just scoffed and moved on.

She's your friend. Obviously she's had do something before that made you trust her. Besides she is really freaked out and really upset she got Wyatt hurt. If you weren't so busy worrying about him and actually looked at her face you would have seen that.

Luci looked up at Wyatt and turned back to her phone looking up old videos to come across the #7th or 8th video where she sees Corbin looking alittle stressed and confused and her being elsewhere...with Wyatt.

Meanwhile, Corbin stops halfway thru a small town not realizing someone has pulled over next to her in a car.

"Hey Everyone. I know Wyatt and Luci are usually with me but I decided I was putting them in to much danger so I told them they should just go home, so I'm going to be needing you guys more than ever to-"

"Hey! You're Corbin, right?" Corbin turns to see a girl only a couple years older than her in the old and beaten car. Corbin turns off her phone and hides it out of view.

"Um...how'd you know my name?" Corbin asked taking a step away from the car.

"Hun, you're infamous. I mean a) you have a vlog and b) you leaked chapters of a major story." The girl responded as she turned of her car and stepped out. Corbin noticed the girls bright, blue eyes standing out in contrast to the girls jet black hair.

"Oh..."

"Well...do you need a ride? I suppose your heading to the convention, as well?" Corbin looked this stranger over and determined that compared to teh things that could be lurking she wuold be pretty safe with the stranger.

"Yeah...so who are you?" Corbin asked as she sat in the passenger seat.

"My name's Alexissia. I know, weird right? Anyway, all my friends call me Lexis, you can do the same if you want." Lexis responded rehooking her seat belt.

"So...are you a fan of Confessions?" Corbin asked in teh attempt to make small talk.

"You could say that..."Lexis responded with  a short laugh.

"What do you mean?"

"Well I like the general plot and the characters, but some of the events are alittle...I don't know. I guess I would have just written them differently." Lexis responded as she merged infront of, what could have been, the only other car within miles.

"Are you a writer?" Corbin asked turning her attention back to the driver.

"Well, I would have been...if it weren't for the car accident."
