Garth Brooks created an alter ego for himself in the 90's called Chris Gaines and Miley Cyrus more recently doned the persona of Hannah Montana. Who's next?
In the 90's pop-country star Garth Brooks created a new persona for himself in order to sell a film that he was to star in about an alternative rock star named "Chris Gaines". He doned a wig and a penciled goatee and released an album under the name. He even did concerts where he INTRODUCED HIMSELF AS CHRIS GAINES! The film was never made and the album was a flop. Also more recently, Miley Cyrus was given her alter ego, Hannah Montana, which became a hit TV show. She too, has done shows under this persona and I was just wondering, if another modern musician tried to do this, who do you guys think it would be and who would be their alter ego?
PS You've already done an Amy Winehouse joke so you can't pick her again! :)

and also, its called Hannah Montana/ Miley Cyrus.. the alter ego may be because of a tv show, but its still an alter ego that people go along with.. I've never heard of this so good job on the research... :D

Well, the whole Garth Brooks thing was unique because people started to believe that Brooks had actually lost his mind and now believed himself to be Chris Gaines. I dont think most people believe that Miley really believes she's Hannah Montana.
And thanks by the way. I've been listening to Brooks since the womb so when I heard about this, I too thought that he'd lost his mind and have since then been waiting for another celebrity to try this schtick and have people really buy into it.
