Personal Apprentice

Personal Apprentice

Dependable, Loyal, Cheap! Behind every great man or woman is an uncomplaining blindly loyal assistant. Until now, only real estate moguls, rock stars, or execs could afford a flunky of their own. But now you too can have a "Personal Apprentice" to cater to your every whim.

My good Friend since 3rd grade decided that I needed a little help keeping my work (of the school type) under control. My briefcase (back-pack) was often in disarray, files (binder) poorly orginised. My staff (friends/minions... same thing)... *sigh* Enough said. Now, normally my friends, Amy, was haired (begged) to help out and be my secretary, but being a busy beaver that she was, simply didn't have time for me. So to remedy the situation she gave me on my 17th birthday a "Personal Apprentice". About an inch tall, this wind-up robot came with 10 inspirational cards (trivia cards), a serving tray (it could hold a penny), 32 page book (of nonsense) and a pencil (small and broken) courtesy of Amy. Oh, joy!

If this was about sixty times the size, and not so weirdly retro-boxy looking, it might go from "weird gift" to "best gift ever."

Yea, but too bad Honda's Asimo can only be gifted by billionaires. The thing costs $100,000 a month, but only costs like $900,000 to make. Not to mention it takes 3 hours to charge and can only walk at a grandmotherly pace for 40 minutes. Thats like winding that toy for 3 turns and only getting 1 step of sweet delicious satisfaction.

What's the weirdest gift you've ever given or received?
