Katie Couric...Me making an ass of myself...

Funny story about my encounter with Katie Couric.

My friend Sam and I lived in NYC for a year and saw celebrities on occasion. We responded with your normal star struck looks I'm sure during these encounters, but Katie Couric got a glimpse of who we really are. Sam and I are a little random and we like to make up songs, talk about nothing, and just in general be very sarcastic to one another. We were on the corner of 47th St. waiting for the crosswalk light to turn in our favor when I started singing (in a very loud and I'm sure annoying voice) a made up song about the little white man in the box that lights up and tells us to go. Here I am pouring my heart out in song not thinking about the people around me when the little white man in the box told us we could go. We proceeded to walk when a woman from the other side started waving in our direction. Surely she heard my thought provoking song and enjoyed it. I started waving back when I realized it was not me she was waving to ,but the person standing next to me.....Katie Couric. At which point I was slightly horrified and I'm sure the look on my face showed it. Katie was very gracious whrn she noticed my embarrassment and simply laughed, patted my shoulder and kept walking....
