I Hate Clingy Guys

For some reason, he never saw it coming!

So I was in 10th or 11th grade when I met Nick, this super tall, dark and hot guy who had a little bit of Greek in him.  I was shallow and liked him right away because, well, he was hot.

So anyways we start going out, make plans to go to the Homecoming dance, and haning out outside of school.  All is going pretty well.

Pretty much right away he starts riding the bus to my house every day after school, as opposed to riding his own bus home.  At first, I don't really mind this because the relationship is still pretty new and he hangs out with me and my friends every day and it's all good.

Until he decides that he misses me too much on the days I work at the fast food restaurant down the street.  He starts talking about applying there so we can work together, and I tell him not to.  I have to admit, it creeped me out at this point because I was already starting to get sick of him always being around.  We seen each other throughout the day at school, passed notes, hung out for several hours every day, then talked on the phone after he had gone home every night.  So now he's talking about working with me so he can be with me the only time he isn't already (aside from sleeping) ?!?!?

Finally, I break up with him, he's way too smothering.  Nick looks at me all sweet like and says, "You can't get rid of me that easily.  I love you and I will always be here."  I'm like what?!?!?  So this guy won't even "let" me break up with him!

He continues to get dropped off every day at my bus stop.  So I start going home and avoiding him and my friends, who he keeps hanging out with.  It's just weird.  Then, to top it off, he gets hired at my work!

So weeks go by of this, him always around, hovering still, and me avoiding him like the plague.  Then one day, he calls in sick while I'm working.  Unfortunately for him, I see him across the street at the party store hanging with some of our friends.  I get my boss and point him out to her.

Given the honor to walk across the street to fire him, I practically run up to him for the first time ever.  "You're fired!" I exclaimed, feeling all Trump-like.

"Crap!  She seen me over here?"

"Uhm, yeah, you call in sick then hang out across the street, not very bright, was it?"

Knowing I'm in good with our boss he tries, "Can't you talk to her?  Tell her I came up here to buy some medicine or something."

I shake my head.  "No."

"Why not?"

"Duh, I'm the one who pointed you out to her!"

"You WHAT?!?!?!" he asks, shocked.

I smiled, proud of myself.

"That's it, it's over between us.  I can't believe you got me fired!"

"Thank you!" I sighed, relieved to finally be free of him.  I almost laughed.  "Now leave me alone!"

He wrote me a pretty nasty letter the next day, making sure I knew how bad of a person I was to get my own boyfriend fired.  I had to just roll my eyes.  I feel sorry for whoever he ended up with!

Funny, these days that sort of thing would be called stalking and would get him a jail term instead of a job.

I certainly hope to never ever be anything like that guy, except for the tall handsome bit, that would be fine.
