ok so let me break it down to you!
Back in the old ages of vamp folklore and legends vampires didnt have half the things we have now to allow them to go out in the daylight. One thing we have now that they didnt have way back when was SPF30 also classically known as sunscreen. Ah yes sunscreen the best friend to all the pale people out there whose worse enemy is the sun! haha one thing i notice when people where alot alot alot! of sunscreen is that they give off a certain smell from the sunscreen there wearing maybe corbin you can discretly give him a sniff?
Another thing is blood! of course every vampire loves blood since they practically thrive off it. And one big thing is the Juguler in your neck. The juguler (hopefull im spelling this right) is the hugest vein in your body and it runs through your neck.This is why most vampires go for the neck rather then other parts of the body. Corbin tie that long hair in a pony tail and bare your neck off to the world if you see him eyeing your neck like a thanksgiving dinner then well you put two and two together and you got VAMPIRE.!.!.!
Another thing is maybe he was turned into a vampire in the 1800 or maybe even earlier. See if you can get his name and go to a library and look him up... MAYBE you can find a picture of him but in the 1800's hmmm that would make me think something suspisous was going on!

Don't you think it'd be awkward to kiss a total stranger? xD That's just me. In some folklore vampires can retract their fangs.
Also, in lots of folklore I've read, they must be alive at least barely in order to be changed. I haven't read anything about what you mentioned, but it does make things more interesting. Then there's stuff like Blade had where a pure vampire is different than a bitten one, etc. Overall you gave some good ideas.
