Football, Anyone?
Football, Anyone?
A blind date with a mystery boy can turn into an uncomfortable situation with a football as your rescue.
I normally don't do blind dates, especially when it involves a computer. I had made the decision to go on a date with a guy who didn't have a profile picture, but who sounded really sweet. He had been talking to me for over two weeks now and finally asked if we could meet up. He had the 'tough guy' attitude over the computer, and I thought, 'Heck, why not?' and I agreed to meet him out in a public park. BIG MISTAKE.
I got all nice looking, texted my friends, told them what was going on, and they became my Gmooh plan. 'Get me out of here'. All I would do was text them and they would call me right away with an emergency. Yes, it’s not the nicest thing to do, but I didn't want to be in a situation I didn't feel comfortable with. So I was at this park, sitting at the designated spot, when suddenly this GIANT guy came walking towards me. He was smoking, his shirt didn't cover his large stomach, he was sweating, and the shorts he had on where tiny. I felt sick to my stomach and I was terrified as he came up to me. 'Please walk by, please walk by, please walk by' I chanted in my head. "Are you Mysterygirl555?" Nope. He didn't walk by.
I nodded in my stupidity, and he sat down by me and started to talk. I was horrified and all too quickly I typed in 'GMOOH!!!!!' to all of my friends. After fifteen minutes, when there was a very awkward silence, he finally suggested that we go to a sandwich shop. I reluctantly agreed. I didn't know what I was going to do! I didn't want to outright tell him no, that would have been mean.
I got my things together and as we where about to leave something hard hit me in the back of my head. I fell face forward into the grass, my head hitting a rock in the process. I was some what dizzy as I sat up. The guy I was on a date with was screaming bloody murder at the group of guys that had thrown the football and missed. I was getting a head ach from his yelling, my head was bleeding from the cut by the rock, and I was covered in dirt. I was so embarrassed and I was hiding my face when finally my cell started to ring, alerting me that one of my friends was saving me. I answered it quickly, and I got up, to stop my date from screaming any more.
I told him I was needed elsewhere, I can’t remember the emergency now, but I do remember his face. He looked like he had been smacked. I didn't ask for his number, and I quickly picked up the football and headed back to my car. I had only taken it thinking I had brought it, in my some what dazed delirium from the blow to the back of the head to the ground and the rock. One of the football players had to run up to get it from me, only to see the damage they did. He offered me a ride to the hospital, which I gratefully took. I saw my blind date head off some where else, so thankfully he didn't see the football player get into the drivers side of my car, and take me to the hospital.
I had to get stitches, but I never saw my blind date again, but as a reward for my 'brave behavior' the football player bought me a flower, and I got to keep the football. I think he was feeling sorry for me, not only for hitting me with the football, but also for my blind date.
