Playing dress up can have it's advantages
Convention staff always have cool stuff in their trucks. Maybe you can find a costume of some sort in one of their trucks while they finish unloading. If you're dressed up you could probably get in through the back door or maybe the security will think you're part of the staff and let you in the front door.

Congratulations, you are one of the few I have read that give them an inexpensive way to get in. You know how everyone says to buy costumes, when one costume usually costs 50$ and wigs 20-30$
