How do I participate and contribute to shows?
There are several ways to participate and contribute to the shows at Take180.com. First, you must become a member by clicking the Sign Up link at the top of the site and following the instructions. Once you've signed up, click the Challenges tab to see the different ways to participate.
The producers of the Take180 shows are regularly issuing new challenges, like "Submit a video of you telling a made-up story about meeting a rockstar." Or "Tell us your worst dating story." Watch the challenge video and read the details for specific instructions.
Challenges may be divided into one or three periods.
Some challenges have one period — a submit period. When the challenge is over and we stop accepting submissions, the Take180 producers will choose one or more winners. The winning submission(s) will then be incorporated into an upcoming episode.
Other challenges are divided into three periods — a submit, a review, and a vote period:
1) Submit — Member submissions are accepted and posted.
2) Review — Members are encouraged to rate and comment on each other's submissions. At the end of this period, the Take180 producers select the finalists.
3) Vote — Members vote for their favorite submission from the finalists chosen by the Take180 producers; the winning submission is then worked into an upcoming episode.
You can win prizes by commenting, submitting or voting (if applicable). Typical prize categories include Finalists, which are chosen by the Take180 producers; Winning Submission, for the finalist receiving the most votes; Top Reviewer, for the most constructive and persuasive comment; and Voter's Prize, for a randomly selected voter. The rules for each challenge will explain exactly how winners are chosen.
How do I make a submission?
You must be a Take180.com member to make a submission. Click the Challenges tab to see all currently active challenges organized by show. To submit, find challenges on the left that indicate they are in the "Submit" period and click on one at a time to see the details. If a challenge looks inviting, click the "Submit" button underneath the video player and follow the instructions.
How do I remove a submission?
To remove a submission, first log in, then roll over the "My Take180" tab at the top and click "Submissions" from the sub-menu. In the listing for each of your submissions, there is a "Delete" link that you can click to delete that submission if it is not locked.
Why is my submission locked so I can't edit or delete it?
When a submission is locked, it cannot be edited or deleted. Submissions may be locked for one of two reasons:
1) The submit period is closed — When the submission period for an active challenge is closed, all of the submissions in that challenge are locked to prevent any member who submitted from unfairly changing his or her submission(s). When the challenge is complete and the winners have been chosen, all submissions except those selected as finalists will be unlocked and open for editing and deletion once again.
2) The submission became a finalist — If a member complies with all the requirements necessary for his/her submission to become a finalist, the ownership of that submission will be transferred from the member who submitted it to Take180. Because of this transfer, the submission may no longer be modified.
What does it mean to be short listed?
A submission is short listed if it's in consideration to become a finalist or winner. If your submission is short listed, Take180 will ask you to fill out some paperwork, which you should return immediately so that we can confirm your eligibility. If the paperwork is not returned by the deadline stated in the email, someone else's submission may replace yours — and you don't want that!
Please note that short listing is a rolling process and Take180 reviews every submission entered during the duration of a specific challenge, including the ones from you procrastinators submitting at the last minute.
Why can't non-U.S. residents participate in Take180 challenges?
Unfortunately, the Take180 system does not currently support challenges for participants residing outside the U.S.
What kind of content is okay to submit?
Take180 welcomes submissions that comply with our Acceptable Use policy as set forth in our Submission Guidelines.
Does Take180 accept adult content?

In the case of complaints based on alleged copyright infringement, Take180 will comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
How does Take180 view copying someone else's work?
Take180 enforces a strict policy against misappropriation and plagiarism. Reports of this activity will be investigated on a case-by-case basis. To report a misappropriated submission, please use the contact us link at the bottom of any page and provide us with as much information as possible, including any relevant links, passages, etc. Please do not use the forums or public comments to report misappropriation.
